According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Merced County killed a motorcyclist on Sunday.
Approximately at 11:30 p.m., a man was driving on Highway 152 near Gonzaga Road. The driver first collided with a construction sign and lost control of his vehicle which led him to strike a truck that was stopped near the construction site.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the vehicle was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim to be 59-year-old Douglas Mclntire.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
