Abilene police have apprehended two men, Robby Hale, 37, and John Gonzales, 58, in connection with a hit-and-run accident resulting in the death of a man. Charged with Second Degree Felony Accident Involving Death, the suspects were arrested following the incident.
The tragedy unfolded shortly before 6 a.m. when authorities responded to a call and discovered 59-year-old Donan Myron Justice deceased in the northbound lanes of Highway 351 in north Abilene.
Justice, in his wheelchair, was struck by a car driving east, and the driver fled the scene. Subsequently, another car hit Justice, with its driver also fleeing. Despite efforts by witnesses to assist Justice, he was pronounced dead at the fatal crash. Investigations are ongoing, and officers are actively searching for the driver of a third vehicle for questioning.
