According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported in Hesperia. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Highway 138, between Summit Post Office Road and Little Horsethief Canyon Road. A white Mercedes and a dark grey Chevrolet Camaro struck one another.
The driver of the Mercedes was identified as 58-year-old Ramiro Ortiz. Ortiz was pronounced dead while being transported in the ambulance.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
