The Texas Department Of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident occurred in Corpus Christi on June 18, 2023. The officials confirmed that one person was killed in the accident. According to the officials, the deceased victim was identified as 58-year-old Martin Enrique Pena.
Around 10:15 p.m., the crash happened in San Patricio County on CR-1196. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety PIO, Casarez Guadalupe, a Dodge Durango was travelling northbound on US-77 in the inside lane and struck a Ford Fusion. The driver of the Ford Fusion succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The events leading to the collision are being investigated. The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
