A tragic incident unfolded Sunday evening on Interstate 5 near Everett, as reported by the Washington State Patrol. A 58-year-old man lost his life in a fatal crash while attempting to refuel his car on the right shoulder of southbound I-5.
According to the State Patrol, the man was struck by another vehicle traveling southbound. The multi-vehicle accident led to the temporary closure of three lanes of traffic and resulted in backups stretching nearly 5 miles, as confirmed by the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Authorities managed to clear the road by 9 p.m. The identity of the deceased man has not been released by the State Patrol. Furthermore, investigations revealed that no drugs or alcohol were involved in the tragic incident.
