The San Diego Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Wednesday evening. The accident occurred on Mira Mesa Boulevard in Sorrento Valley at around 8:15 p.m.
According to the officials, a 2016 Chrysler Pacifica van was headed east on Mira Mesa Boulevard. At the same time, a woman was walking south on Pacific Heights Boulevard and was crossing the intersection. The van crashed into her just as she stepped out into the street.
The pedestrian was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the woman has not been disclosed at this time.
The fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. The officials have confirmed that alcohol did not play a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
