57-Year-Old Wendell Canup Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Macon (Macon, GA)

The Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash in Clarksville late Saturday.

The collision involved only one vehicle.

The accident happened south of Batesville at around 8 p.m.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Wendell Canup was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck southbound on GA 255 when he lost control of the vehicle and went off the road. The tree was hit by the truck.

Kasey McEntire, the coroner for Habersham County, reports that 57-year-old Canup was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unsure what caused the crash.

Whether drugs or alcohol are involved is yet to be found.

The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials.
