57-Year-Old Man Killed In A Pedestrian Accident In South Hill (South Hill, WA)

A tragic incident occurred in the South Hill area, resulting in the death of a pedestrian. The pedestrian accident took place on southbound state Route 161 near County Dump Road around 8:29 p.m. Wednesday.

The Washington State Patrol swiftly responded, with Trooper John Dattilo providing updates via X. Regrettably, the pedestrian was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time. 

The fatal crash report reveals that a 2022 Volkswagen Atlas was heading south on Route 161 when it struck a 57-year-old Puyallup man walking along the right shoulder. The car came to a stop on the right shoulder.

The road was temporarily closed for nearly three hours, and the collision remains under investigation.
