A tragedy struck near Glamis as a 57-year-old man from Lake Havasu City, Arizona, lost his life in an Off-Highway vehicle (OHV) crash, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The motor vehicle accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when the man was driving a 2009 Polaris Ranger in the open desert of the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area. For reasons yet unknown, the driver couldn’t maintain control of the Polaris Ranger, leading to its overturn.
The man was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Despite wearing proper headgear, the man was not secured with his safety belt. His identity is not yet known. The fatal crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
