According to the California Highway Patrol, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Auburn on Friday. The crash happened on Interstate 80 near Penryn Road at around 4 p.m.
According to the investigators, a GMC Sierra pickup truck, a Toyota Highlander, and a Toyota Sienna were involved in the collision. The driver of the GMC was traveling at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended the Toyota Highlander. The officials stated that the force of the crash caused the Toyota Highlander to rear-end a Toyota Sienna with four occupants.
According to the reports, the driver of the Highlander suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Auburn Police Department did not reveal the identity and the name of the unknown deceased person.
