57-year-old John Henning injured after a two-vehicle collision on I-82 near Prosser (Prosser, WA)

On Thursday morning, 57-year-old John Henning, from Yakima, suffered injuries following a two-vehicle accident on I-82 near Prosser that led to the closure of eastbound traffic.

The incident took place at about 7:35 a.m. in which a GMC van and a semi-truck were involved. The preliminary reports showed that a GMC van driven by John Henning rear-ended a semi-truck for reasons that are under investigation.

On arrival, medics rushed Henning to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in serious condition. The driver of the semi remained unharmed. Authorities said that drugs or alcohol did not play a factor in the accident. All the people involved in the crash were reportedly wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.

An investigation into the crash is continuing.
