57-Year-Old Janie Blouin Died In A Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash On LA Hwy 22 (Tangipahoa Parish, LA)

Louisiana State Police Troop L responded to a fatal two-vehicle crash on LA Hwy 22 in Tangipahoa Parish around 6:30 p.m.

The victim was identified as Janie Blouin, 57, of Norco. 

A preliminary investigation into the crash revealed that 22-year-old Ami Gauthier of Ponchatoula was driving a 2016 Jeep Renegade when it stopped in the southbound lane of LA Hwy 1249. At the same time, Blouin was also traveling west on LA Hwy 22 in a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. 

For unknown reasons, the Jeep failed to yield to oncoming traffic and entered the westbound lane in front of the motorcycle. The Harley-Davidson then impacted the Jeep. 

Blouin was wearing a DOT-approved helmet and sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The toxicology reports are pending. The crash is being investigated.
