The Menifee Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Friday morning. The accident occurred at the intersection of Menifee and Wickered Roads at around 4:20 p.m.
According to the officials, a man and a vehicle were involved in the collision. The man had been walking in the middle of the southbound lanes of Menifee Road. At the same time, a Dodge Ram headed towards the man at an unknown speed. The two crashed.
The man was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has since been identified as 57-year-old Eliazar Garcia. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated.
The officials reported that the driver was not able to see the victim in time due to the victim wearing non-reflective clothing. The fatal crash is still being investigated.
