In Curry County, a tragic hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a 57-year-old man, identified as Dawn Renee Dozier on Thursday. The accident occurred on Curry Road K between Curry Road 7 and 8 around 7:48 p.m.,
According to the officials, a man and a vehicle were involved in a collision. The police were called after the accident and discovered Dozier on the road, fatally injured. He was pronounced dead.
Authorities swiftly arrested 43-year-old Fernando Chavez-Molina of Clovis. He has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal crash involving great bodily injury or death, a third-degree felony. Currently held without bond at the Curry County Adult Detention Center, Chavez-Molina may face additional arrests or charges as the investigation unfolds.
