The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office reported a motor vehicle accident last week. The accident occurred on the on-ramp to southbound Interstate 5 and the timing of the accident has not been disclosed.
According to the officials, two vehicles were involved in the collision. Two 16-year-old boys were apparently attempting to flee in a stolen vehicle when they crashed into another truck.
The truck’s driver was thrown from the vehicle due to the force of the crash and fell from an overpass onto Interstate 5. He incurred fatal injuries from the fall and was pronounced dead. He has since been identified as 57-year-old Bohdan Vetrov.
The two 16-year-olds were arrested and charged with robbery and manslaughter. The fatal crash is still being investigated.
