A 56-year-old woman lost her life after her vehicle went off the roadway and crashed into a tree Saturday morning Kalamazoo County.
As per the initial information, the fatal solo-vehicle accident took place just before 7 a.m. on 8th Street near S Avenue in Texas Township. The early reports showed that the Schoolcraft woman was heading south on South 8th Street when her vehicle veered off the road for an undetermined reason and slammed into a tree.
The woman, who was the sole occupant in the vehicle, succumbed to her injuries. She was declared dead at the scene. At this time, it is unknown if alcohol or speed contributed to the crash. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No further details are available.
The incident remains under investigation.
