The Los Angeles Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Friday morning. The accident occurred at 7843 Lankershim Boulevard at Strathern Street just before 11 a.m. 

According to the officials, a man and a motorcycle were involved in a collision. The man was wheelchair-bound and crossing the road when he was hit by a vehicle. 

The victim was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have identified the deceased victim as 56-year-old Peter Arata. 

The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
