Officials identified 56-year-old Miguel Rios Ledesma, of Huntington Park, as the victim who died after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday on 60 Freeway.
As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the area east of the 605 Freeway at around 2:20 a.m. after getting reports of an auto-pedestrian accident. The preliminary reports showed that Ledesma was driving a 2005 Ford Escape that crashed into the center divider and came to a rest in the number 2 lane. Then, he came out of his vehicle and stood beside his SUVs driver’s door.
After some time, a 2012 Toyota Highlander hit Ledesma and his vehicle. Responding officers declared Ledesma dead at the scene. The Highlander driver was not injured and stayed at the scene. Both the Highlander driver and another motorist whose vehicle ran over debris, cooperated with the investigators. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
