On Monday, a 56-year-old man lost his life following a single-vehicle accident in Phoenix.
As per the initial information, the fatal semi-truck crash took place shortly after 6 a.m. along the southbound I-17 to the westbound Interstate 10 transition ramp. The early reports showed that a 56-year-old man was driving a semi-truck when he failed to maintain control of the truck and slammed into a pillar along a Phoenix freeway.
Due to the impact, the semi-truck jackknifed. On arrival, officers found that the victim was attended to by other drivers. The man was rushed to a hospital where he was later declared dead. The ramp was shut down while crews worked at the scene, but has since reopened. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
