A tragedy struck San Marcos as a 56-year-old pedestrian lost their life after being struck by a truck on East Mission Road. The fatal pedestrian accident occurred at 4:32 a.m. on Thursday.
According to the officials, a pedestrian and a vehicle were involved in a collision. The pedestrian was crossing the west crosswalk at the Mulberry Drive intersection. A silver Dodge Ram truck, driven by a 61-year-old man traveling eastbound on East Mission Road, collided with the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner’s office is investigating to determine the cause of death, identify the victim, and notify the family. The San Marcos Traffic Unit is actively investigating the fatal crash.
