In a tragic incident near the old English Field terminal, Amarillo police identified the victim of a fatal crash as Kevin Loomis, a 56-year-old from Phoenix, Arizona. Loomis was driving a Subaru Crosstrek on US 60 when the vehicle veered off the road, colliding with a fence, a gas line, and a building.
The impact caused the SUV to catch fire, trapping Loomis inside. Despite efforts to rescue him, Loomis was pronounced dead at the scene. The motor vehicle accident, which unfolded on Saturday morning, remains under investigation as authorities seek to determine the factors contributing to the accident that claimed the life of the Arizona resident.
