56-year-old James Ellis Dowden dead after a fiery crash on Highway 80 in Shreveport (Shreveport, LA)

On Thursday, authorities identified 56-year-old James Ellis Dowden as the man who lost his life following a fiery crash on May 27 in Shreveport.

The fatal three-vehicle wreck took place on Highway 80. According to the investigation reports, a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Hwy 80 when it went into the westbound lanes and crashed head-on into a pickup truck.

After that, a third vehicle rear-ended the second pickup truck, and both got engulfed in flames. 56-year-old James Ellis Dowden died as a result of the accident. The coroner identified Dowden through dental records. No other details are made available.

The crash remains under review.
