Authorities identified 56-year-old Daniel Lee Jensen, from Huntington, as the man who lost his life following a crash late Saturday night in Lufkin.
As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle accident took place at about 10:50 p.m. on North Raguet Street. The preliminary reports showed that a 2009 Harley Davidson ridden by Daniel Lee Jensen was heading northbound on North Raguet Street when his motorcycle went off the road, struck a guy-wire, hit a curb, and then crashed into a gas pump at the Big’s location formerly known as Cherry’s Grocery.
Jensen was declared dead at the scene after sustaining a severe head injury. He was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Jensen had been out riding with friends before the wreck. They informed officers they believed he was attempting to catch up to them when the incident happened. No other details are available.
An investigation is ongoing.
