56-year-old Allen Todd Henley dead after an auto-pedestrian collision in Augusta (Augusta, GA)

Authorities identified 56-year-old Allen Todd Henley as the man who lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on Friday afternoon in Augusta.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 12:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Meadowbrook Drive. The early reports showed that a vehicle struck an Augusta man for reasons that are yet to be known. The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was declared dead shortly after 1 p.m.

Both eastbound and westbound traffic on Meadowbrook Drive was rerouted through streets in a neighborhood of south Augusta that sits between Windsor Spring and Deans Bridge roads. An autopsy is scheduled at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation lab, officials said. No further details were provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
