According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a motor vehicle accident occurred in Eastland County on Saturday.
The crash happened on County Road 376, 5.3 miles northeast of Cross Plains at around 6:47 p.m.
According to the investigators, a 2003 Honda and a 55-year-old Robert Carmel Martin were involved in the collision. The driver of the vehicle was traveling eastbound when the driver lost control and overturned, ejecting the driver.
55-year-old Robert Carmel Martin was identified as the driver of the Honda who suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident is being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident. Additional information regarding the fatal crash is not available currently.
