The Phoenix Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Friday morning. The accident happened close to 52nd Avenue and Baseline Road at around 4:30 a.m. The collision involved a pedestrian.
According to preliminary information, the man was struck by a westbound car as he crossed Baseline Road. When officers arrived on the scene, a man was there with serious injuries.
He was taken to a nearby hospital, but he was later declared dead because of his injuries. The man was identified by authorities as Randy Long, 55.
According to police, the accident’s involved vehicle is still present. The fatal crash is still under investigation. No other details are available currently.
