The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident in Pine Valley on Sunday. The accident occurred on Sunrise Highway just before 1:30 p.m. 

According to the officials, a single motorcycle was involved in the collision. A Ducati was headed down the highway when he lost control and crashed into a guardrail. This caused the driver to be thrown off. 

The motorcyclist was fatally injured and was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital for treatment. The officials have since identified the man as 55-year-old Mitchell Van Linge. 

The officials are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
