55-Year-Old Mary L. Crockett Killed In A Multi-Vehicle Accident In Smith County (Smith County, TX)

A tragic multi-vehicle accident in Smith County claimed one life and left four injured on Tuesday evening around 5:50 p.m. The collision involved two vehicles on State Highway 31 East at County Road 2212, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Mary L. Crockett, 55, of Tyler, lost her life when her northbound vehicle collided with another while attempting to turn west on 31. Crockett was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene, wearing a seat belt.

The occupants of the other vehicle, a 40-year-old woman, a 20-year-old woman, a 12-year-old boy, and a 1-year-old girl, sustained non-incapacitating injuries and were taken to a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing into this fatal crash.
