According to the California Highway Patrol, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Merced on Tuesday. The crash happened on Highway 99 just north of O Street at around 11:23 p.m.
According to the investigators, a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe and a 2021 International big rig were involved in the collision. The events leading up to the accident have not been disclosed at this time.
The officials stated that a 55-year-old suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Merced Police Department did not reveal the identity and the name of the unknown deceased person.
Some portions of Highway 99 just north of O Street are blocked for further investigation.
