55-year-old man killed after an auto-pedestrian collision in New Orleans (New Orleans, LA)

On early Tuesday, a 55-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a vehicle in New Orleans.

As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian collision took place at about 6:30 a.m. on the corner of Louisiana Avenue and South Liberty Street. The early reports showed that the man was standing on the median when he stepped into the street into the path of a pickup truck and got struck.

On arrival, emergency personnel rushed the pedestrian to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the pickup truck called 911 for help. The man stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

The driver did not receive any injuries as a result of the accident. Officials believe that the man was not impaired. The identity of deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are immediately available.

The incident remains under review.
