55-Year-Old Elvira Lopez Injured In A Motor Vehicle Accident In Bakersfield (Bakersfield, CA)

According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident was reported on Interstate 5 on Wednesday morning. 

The officials stated that a vehicle was found on the side of the road. 

The crash happened on Copus Road near Interstate 5. 

According to the investigation, 55-year-old Elvira Lopez struck a 2014 Peterbilt big rig in an attempt to reenter after overtaking. 

The 55-year-old was driving a 2004 Ford and lost control leading the vehicle to run off the road and overturn. 

Upon the officer’s arrival, the passenger in her vehicle was declared dead and Lopez was taken to Kern Medical. 

The cause of the fatal crash is being investigated at the moment. 

No additional information regarding the identity of the deceased victim was provided.
