The Woodville Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred on Highway 69, near the intersection of Highway 287 at around 12 p.m.
According to the officials, a Nissan Frontier was headed south on Highway 69 when it crossed into the turning lane. This caused it to crash into the side of a northbound Coca-Cola delivery truck.
The driver of the Nissan was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim as 54-year-old Richard Winter. The driver of the truck was not injured.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. There are no other details available at this time.
