The Clovis Police Department reported a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday morning. The accident occurred near Fifth and Walnut in Clovis at around 6:53 a.m.
According to the officials, a vehicle and a man were involved in a collision. The events leading up to the crash are not entirely clear at this time.
The man was critically injured and rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The officials have since identified the victim as 54-year-old Joseph Sandoval.
The driver involved remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Clovis officials stated that their Major Crash Team is actively looking into the fatal crash.
