According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a fatal crash was reported in Hartley County. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident.
Authorities stated that the collision occurred on US 87. The deceased person was identified as 54-year-old Jason Wright. Wright drove his 2023 Chevrolet Trailblazer towards the eastbound lane from the westbound lane. As a result of this, Wright struck a 2021 Freightliner truck tractor.
Wright was rushed to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The cause of the accident has yet to be released. The crash continues to be investigated by the TDPS.
