A tragic crash involving a UTV in Richfield claimed the life of 54-year-old Jack Becker on Monday. Utah Highway Patrol reports indicate that Becker, a resident of Richfield, was driving a utility terrain vehicle north on Main Street near 1100 South at approximately 4:00 p.m.
He attempted a left turn in front of a Hyundai Elantra and was struck “broadside,” causing the UTV to roll. Becker, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the hospital.
The driver of the Elantra and a pregnant passenger sustained minor injuries and were also hospitalized. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
