According to the Texas Department of Safety, a motor vehicle accident that took place in Freestone County killed a 54-year-old man, identified as Gregory Rowell, on Monday.
At around 11:37 a.m., Rowell was driving a truck tractor north on Interstate 45 near Fairfield. He lost control of the vehicle and collided with a septic truck. The truck flipped over.
Rowell was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have not disclosed any details regarding the other vehicle involved.
It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
