The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported that Diane Rotarius, 54, of Riverside, died on Friday after she was fatally injured in a collision at a Perris intersection. The multi-vehicle accident occurred around 3 p.m. at the intersection of South A Street and Redding Way.
Sergeant Jeremy Bracey stated that Rotarius was riding her bicycle across A Street when she entered the intersection, colliding with a vehicle making a left turn from Redding onto A.
Preliminary findings suggest Rotarius failed to yield to a stop sign.
Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after and pronounced Rotarius dead. The driver of the vehicle stopped immediately and cooperated with the authorities. The fatal crash remains under investigation, with uncertainties regarding the involvement of alcohol or drugs. An autopsy was pending as of Monday.
