The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a truck and a sport utility vehicle that led to a death. The collision occurred on North Street near Kyla Heugly Drive at 10:15 a.m.
The victim was identified as 54-year-old Dedra Marshall from Baton Rouge.
The 2012 Chevrolet pickup truck driver fled the scene, ditching the vehicle behind. As per Gonzales Police Department reports, the truck was stolen.
Marshall, who was driving a 2006 Ford Explorer, died later from her injuries, said the Detectives.
Photos of the man operating the Chevrolet truck were released by the police.
