In Bowie County, Texas, a pedestrian lost their life in a fatal crash on South SH 8 in New Boston, as reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety on Jan. 4. The tragic pedestrian accident occurred around 10 p.m. on December 31, 2023.
It involved a 2023 Chevy Trax SUV driven by a 53-year-old woman from Maud. The driver, who was wearing her seatbelt, escaped injury. The victim, identified as Alisha McCuller Parker, 44, of New Boston, was fatally struck while crossing the road.
Despite the immediate response, Parker was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminary details indicate the vehicle was travelling north on SH 8 when the collision occurred. The investigation into this fatal crash remains ongoing.
