In a tragic head-on collision near Garlock on Monday morning, a 53-year-old woman from Topeka, Kansas, lost her life, and two others were seriously injured. The California Highway Patrol reported the multi-vehicle accident at approximately 8:36 a.m. on Redrock Randsburg Road, west of Garlock Road.
A white Mercedes, driven by a 53-year-old California City woman, collided head-on with a white Hyundai driven by a Kansas woman. Despite efforts, the Kansas woman was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is not yet known at this time. Her 49-year-old male passenger was hospitalized with severe injuries.
The California City woman also suffered severe injuries and was transported to the hospital. Currently, driver impairment is not suspected as a contributing factor in the fatal crash, as per CHP.
