Tragedy struck when a head-on collision on Texas 71 in Burnet County resulted in one fatality. The officials have identified the victim as 53-year-old Shannan Michelle Burnette.
The Texas Department of Public Safety reported the fatal crash on November 27. It involved two vehicles. An eastbound Dodge pickup went into the westbound lane and crashed into a Ford mini-SUV. The accident occurred near Twisted Oak Dr. in Spicewood. The multi-vehicle accident occurred at 6:52 p.m.
Burnette, who was driving the SUV, was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The occupant of the Dodge was airlifted to Dell Seton Hospital in Austin for treatment.
