The Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim of the motor vehicle crash that took place in Vista as 53-year-old Ricardo Becerra.
Roughly at 11:25 p.m., Ricardo Becerra, a passenger in a Toyota Camry driven by his 51-year-old wife westbound, was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado on Gopher Canyon Road, Hoxie Ranch Road. Becerra was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 29-year-old woman, was transported to the hospital.
The officials have since confirmed that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
