A tragic accident on Highway 105 near County Road 417 east of Navasota resulted in one fatality and several injuries, prompting an investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

According to preliminary findings, the incident occurred at 9 a.m. when a 2001 Kenworth 18-wheeler was traveling eastbound. A 2016 Nissan Rouge and a 2024 Hyundai Palisade were both heading westbound. However, the Nissan crossed the center line, entered the eastbound lanes, and collided head-on with the Kenworth. Subsequently, it was struck again by the Hyundai.

The driver of the Nissan, identified as Qinglei Li, 53, from College Station, tragically lost their life at the scene. The driver of the Kenworth and the Hyundai driver were both transported to local hospitals with suspected minor injuries. The investigation remains ongoing, and further details are pending release as the inquiry progresses.
