53-year-old Melvyen Loehr dead after a hit-and-run crash in Skagit Valley (Big Lake, WA)

Authorities identified 53-year-old Melvyen Loehr, from Everett, as the man who lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on Tuesday night in Skagit County.

As per the initial information, the fatal hit-and-run crash took place on SR 9 in Big Lake at about 8 p.m. The preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle was traveling north when it hit 53-year-old Melvyen Loehr.

The driver of the involved vehicle failed to stop after striking the pedestrian. Loehr suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. Authorities do not have a description of the car that struck Loehr. No other details are made available.

The incident remains under active review.
