Louisiana State Police responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash that claimed a life. The crash happened on Thursday, LA 37, north of LA 409.
The victim was identified as 53-year-old Mark Anthony Philips of Baton Rouge.
A preliminary investigation reveals that Philips was driving a 2020 Toyota Tacoma southbound on LA 37. He failed to turn left in a curve, traveled off the road, and struck a tree.
According to the officials, Philips was wearing a seatbelt during the crash. He sustained fatal injuries from the crash and died at the scene.
