The Garden Grove Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Sunday.
The accident occurred in the 12000 block of Brookhurst Street, near Chapman Avenue at around 1.55 a.m.
The officials reported that a white 2020 Toyota Tacoma struck a man in a hit-and-run accident.
The victim was taken to a local hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
The victim was identified as a 53-year-old male. There are no other details about his identity available pending notification of his family.
The driver, identified as 26-year-old Alexis Lopez, was arrested on the suspicion of driving under the influence. He was later booked with charges of driving under the influence, felony hit and run, and felony vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
The cause of this fatal accident is still being investigated.
