According to the Texas Police Department, a fatal crash occurred in Donna on Friday evening.
According to the reports, a Nissan Altima, a Saturn ION, and a Toyota vehicle were involved in the crash.
The driver of the Nissan Altima was identified as 26- year-old Matthew Ryan Cortez traveling southbound on Stites road.
The Nissan driver crashed onto the other two vehicles while taking a U-turn on FM 493.
A 53-year-old Lili Sanlucar Hernandez driving a Saturn ION was pronounced dead at the scene.
The officials stated that all the passengers were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The suspect was transferred to the Hidalgo County Jail and was charged.
No additional information regarding the multi-vehicle crash was provided by the Deputies.
