53-year-old Douglas E Rivas Emerita injured after his car collided with a deer on U.S. Highway 12 (Touchet, WA)

On Monday evening, 53-year-old Douglas E Rivas Emerita, a Pasco man, suffered injuries following a traffic accident on U.S. Highway 12 in Walla Walla County.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle crash took place at 5:42 p.m. approximately two miles west of Touchet. The early reports indicated that Rivas Emerita was traveling eastbound in a 2018 Toyota when his car hit a deer in the roadway.

On arrival, emergency personnel took Rivas Emerita by ambulance to Providence St. Mary Medical Center. His condition is unknown at this time. Drugs and alcohol were not involved in the accident. No charges are pending, officers stated.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
