The New Mexico State Police reported a motor vehicle accident in Santa Fe County on Saturday night. The accident occurred on State Road 14, near mile marker 30 at around 11:50 p.m.
According to the officials, a single motorcycle was involved in the collision. The vehicle was headed north on the highway when the driver lost control. This caused the vehicle to leave the road and crash into a guardrail.
The driver of the vehicle was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. The officials have since identified the victim as 53-year-old Drik Stronck.
The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. The officials have confirmed that they suspect alcohol to have played a role in the collision.
