The Jacksonville Police Department reported a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on Sunday. The officials confirmed that one person died in the accident. According to the officials, the deceased victim was identified as 53-year-old David V. Eide.
Around 5:11 p.m., the crash happened at the intersection of Jowell and North Jackson Streets. Eide was travelling south in the 4000 block of North Jackson Street, while another vehicle was travelling east on Jowell Street.
The release states the driver of the other vehicle stopped at the intersection but failed to yield the right of way and was struck by the motorcycle. Eide was pronounced dead at the scene.
The events leading up to this collision are not yet known. The authorities are still investigating the cause of the fatal crash. It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role.
